Abstract
The study aimed at analyzing the theoretical frameworks for the use of "power" in international relations from both the contemporary Western and Islamic perspectives. The study reviewed the most important developments in the concept of "power" in the field of international relations from the contemporary Western perspective, and the most important elements of "power", its connotations, and dimensions in the Islamic perspective. By employing the descriptive, analytical, and comparative approaches, the study attempted to provide an analytical comparison of the similarities and differences between the two perspectives and how they use power. The study also showed how to reach an optimal form of the use of power in international relations by studying both perspectives
