The Variables affecting parents' participation in the Sultanate of Oman to support their children's education during the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic

Abstract

The study aimed to reveal the variables affecting the participation of parents in the Sultanate of Oman to support the education of their children during the spread of the Corona epidemic (Covid 19). To achieve the aim of the study; The researchers followed the descriptive approach by distributing an electronic questionnaire to a sample of 207 families of first and second cycle students in basic education in the Sultanate of Oman. The results of the study indicated that the participation of parents for their children in the Sultanate of Oman; To support their education during the Corona epidemic (Covid 19) was high, besides there were statistically significant differences; Due to the variable of the geographical area and the educational level, the results of the study revealed a statistically significant difference in the axis of partnership between the family and the school in education during the closure period between the mountainous and desert environments in favor of the mountain environment and in the variable of the educational level of the axis of forms of support provided by parents to their children during the closure period Schools are between the diploma holders and secondary education in favor of the diploma holders, between the bachelor’s and secondary education holders in favor of the bachelor, and between the postgraduate and bachelor’s studies campaign in favor of the bachelor, and the study showed that the most prominent challenges facing parents while following the distance education system during the school closure period are weak Internet networks, and lack of time, Weak infrastructure for internet and electricity services. The study recommended adopting educational theories to support the partnership between the family and the school, such as the theory of knowledge stocks to face any future pandemics or natural disasters.
