Abstract

The continuous clashes between illegal immigrants and Europeans formed a motive for the securityization of the immigration issue, as this phenomenon has become one of the main threats to European security due to the continuous flow of illegal immigrants on the one hand, and on the other hand, linking it to other security issues such as terrorism, extremism, and organized crime. This article attempts to shed light on the issue of illegal immigration and its repercussions on European security. The results showed that the Mediterranean has become a space for civilizational and cultural conflict instead of a space for dialogue and cooperation, and it has also been shown that Europe adopts a solid military approach to confront illegal immigration and at the same time bears responsibility for the backwardness of the societies of the southern Mediterranean countries. The results also pointed to the growth of hate speech in European societies and in political discourses.

شكلت الصدامات المتكررة بين المهاجرين غير الشرعيين والأوروبيين دافعاً لإضفاء الطابع الأمني على قضيّة الهجرة، إذ أصبحت هذه الظاهرة أحد المهددات الرئيسة للأمن الأوروبي بسبب التدفق المستمر للمهاجرين غير الشرعيين من جهة، ومن جهة أخرى ربطها بقضايا أمنية أخرى على غرار الإرهاب، التطرف، الجريمة المنظمة. نحاول بهذا المقال تسليط الضوء على قضية الهجرة غير الشرعية وما حملته من تداعيات على الأمن الأوروبي؛ وقد خلصت النتائج إلى أن البحر المتوسط أضحى فضاءً للصراع الحضاري والثقافي بدلاً من فضاء للحوار والتعاون، كما تبين أن أوربا تتبنى مقاربة عسكرية صلبة لمواجهة الهجرة غير الشرعية وفي الوقت ذاته يقع عليها مسؤولية تخلف مجتمعات دول جنوب المتوسط. كما ظهر تنامي خطاب الكراهية والبغض في المجتمعات الأوروبية وفي الخطابات السياسية.
