Abstract
The article aimed to identify the obstacles to employing virtual reality technology in the history subject for the second secondary grade in Jerash Governorate from the viewpoint of social study، in addition to developing procedures to overcome the obstacles to employing virtual reality technology in the history subject for the second secondary grade in Jerash Governorate from the social study teachers’ point of view. The researcher used the descriptive approach of the comprehensive survey، and the study tool was the questionnaire، and the study population consisted of all social studies teachers in Jerash Governorate. The sample of study consisted of (105) male and female teachers. The most important results of the research were: the general average of the obstacles to employing virtual reality technology in history for the second grade of secondary school in Jerash Governorate from the point of view of social studies teachers came to a (high) degree، and the results did not show that there were statistically significant differences at the significance level a<.05 for the obstacles to employing virtual reality technology due to the variables (gender، number of years of experience، educational qualification، age). The researcher recommended the necessity of holding training courses for teachers، students and their families to clarify the role of employing virtual reality technology in the educational process and providing a laboratory within each school for training on virtual reality techniques in teaching history.
